Rob McGowan, Owner
Rob brought craft beer to downtown Cleveland in 2014.
“I’ve always had an interest in beer. I brew beer, homebrew mostly. I got this idea from a place in Seattle, Washington, when I was backpacking out west. I saw a bar that served beer, and they had beer from all over world. I thought it would be a great idea for a small community.”
Mash and Hops is technically a craft beer cafe, not a beer garden. It is full-service with kegs, cans and growlers all in one place.
Rob’s favorite part of Mash and Hops is meeting people and reconnecting with old friends.

What do you like best about working here? “The fact that I get paid for a hobby is pretty amazing, but finding a beer for someone who isn’t sure about craft beer and seeing the person enjoy it is my favorite.”

What do you do for fun? “Golf, work out, hang out with people and watch sports!”
